Betterment of Mental Health

EVERY DAY, APPROXIMATELY 130 AMERICANS DIE BY SUICIDE,
RESULTING IN THE 10TH LEADING
CAUSE OF DEATH IN THE UNITED STATES.

THAT’S ONE DEATH BY SUICIDE
EVERY 11 MINUTES.

ONE IN SIX VETERINARIANS HAVE CONTEMPLATED SUICIDE.

PAISLEY PAWS PROVIDES FINANCIAL CRISIS AID TO VETERINARY PROFESSIONALS WHO NEED MEDICAL LEAVE AND MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES
TO ENHANCE THEIR WELL-BEING.

Paisley Paws recognizes that there is a mental health crisis, exacerbated by financial struggles, a poor work-life balance, compassion fatigue, depression and other factors within the veterinary profession that must be addressed.

Veterinarians have the highest suicide rate of all professions--      3.5 times higher than the general public.  These alarming statistics cannot be ignored.

Paisley Paws Betterment of Mental Health Fund provides financial crisis aid to veterinary professionals who need medical leave and mental health services to enhance their well-being.

The goal is to ease financial burdens, that left unpaid could exacerbate an individual's stress preventing them from getting the proper care.

We are on a mission to significantly reduce suicide within the veterinary profession and to save a life.

Crisis aid to prevent suicide:

  • Up to $5,000 over four consecutive weeks to ease financial burdens, allowing individuals in a crisis state to address mental health needs. Funds are paid directly to entity, not the individual.

Our Betterment of Mental Health goal is to Save a Life and Enhance a Life for individuals in the veterinary profession so that they may continue to practice at their full potential.

PILLAR WILL BECOME AVAILABLE TO VETERINARY PROFESSIONALS BEGINNING IN JULY 2024. STAY TUNED FOR MORE DETAILS FOR HOW TO APPLY FOR CRISIS AID.
